Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between KirNik Kirillov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deven King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen monster as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KirNik Kirillov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deven King!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirillov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and King counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by King.
King is trying to break the clinch but Kirillov is controlling him.

Kirillov breaks from the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kirillov.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kirillov, as that shot connected.
Kirillov has his takedown stuffed

and King counters by clinching up.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for KirNik Kirillov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King manages to break the clinch.
Kirillov shoots and misses

and King counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by King.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kirillov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away.
No luck for Kirillov with that takedown attempt.

Kirillov has managed to clinch.

Kirillov using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
King is trying to force a seperation but Kirillov has the dominant position.
Kirillov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. King just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kirillov jumps guard but King stands there with Kirillov around his waist. Kirillov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

King tries to break free but Kirillov pushes him back against the cage.

King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kirillov.

Deven King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kirillov moves into the clinch successfully.
Kirillov throws an elbow but it misses.
Kirillov misses with some punches.

King looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Kirillov trying to control the position but instead, King has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kirillov into the cage.

Kirillov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kirillov is trying to pull guard but King turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

King forces Kirillov back against the cage and clinches.
Kirillov is trying to break the clinch but King is controlling him.

Kirillov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but King gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that KirNik Kirillov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Kirillov shoots in looking for a takedown. King tries to sprawl out of it but Kirillov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kirillov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kirillov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kirillov looking for a sweep. Not yet Kirillov, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kirillov is trying to control the position but King postures up.

Kirillov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! King has picked Kirillov up and slammed him! Kirillov can't keep hold of the triangle and King manages to pass to side control!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

King decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kirillov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.
King is trying to force a seperation but Kirillov has the dominant position.
King has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kirillov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Deven King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kirillov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kirillov laying and praying for a moment but King takes advantage and regains half guard.
Kirillov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
KirNik Kirillov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to KirNik Kirillov.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirillov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
