Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darius Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandy Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darius Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sandy Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins connects with the punch.

Parker gets a takedown into half guard.
Hawkins wants to get back to full guard.
Hawkins is refusing to be controlled, as Parker sits in half guard.
Hawkins controlling the position well.
Parker wants to stand up but Hawkins is controlling the position.
Hawkins is looking to improve his position.

Hawkins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hawkins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hawkins pulls Parker in close to his closed guard and prevents Parker from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Darius Parker just wasn't active enough.
Parker fails with an attempt to clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hawkins.
A head kick from Hawkins lands but Parker takes it in his stride.


It looks like Darius Parker has been cut.
Hawkins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Parker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hawkins was covering up waiting for the punch and Parker finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hawkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hawkins is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Parker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Parker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darius Parker.

Parker dives in and scores a takedown into Hawkins's guard.
Hawkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Parker!
Parker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hawkins trying to control but he's not successful this time.
You get the feeling that Parker really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Parker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hawkins avoids the attempt from Parker to control.
Hawkins trying to control but Parker is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parker is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hawkins is working for a guillotine from mount but Parker frees his head quite easily.

Hawkins goes for an armbar but Parker turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Parker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Darius Parker will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Parker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Parker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Parker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hawkins can't keep his opponent in guard - Parker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hawkins is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hawkins is trying to control but Parker manages to pass to mount!
Parker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hawkins avoids a strike by Parker and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Parker's guard! Fantastic escape!

Hawkins drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick Hawkins off! Hawkins jumps back into Parker's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins wants to control from the top but Parker keeps moving.
Hawkins passes into half guard.
Parker looks like he's trying to stand up.

Hawkins is working for a kimura here but Parker manages to reverse the position and he's now in Hawkins's guard.

Hawkins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parker defends it easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hawkins is on top in guard.
Darius Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hawkins lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Parker wants to improve his position but instead Hawkins has moved into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hawkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Parker defends it well.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hawkins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Parker shoots in and bounces Hawkins off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Parker is trying to control. Hawkins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Darius Parker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hawkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Parker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hawkins on his heels. He'll look to pass Hawkins's guard now, I'm sure.

Parker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hawkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Parker has managed to get both his arms back between Hawkins's legs - danger averted.

Parker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Darius Parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Parker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
