The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pavlov tries to keep at a distance but Goldman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Goldman blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pavlov lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Herrick Goldman has been cut.
Pavlov tries a knee to the head but Goldman blocks it.

Pavlov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Goldman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pavlov to the mat. Pavlov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Pavlov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goldman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goldman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pavlov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
