Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tung Pung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tung Pung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Kobashi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobashi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pung stuffs the takedown.
Pung throws a sloppy head kick and Kobashi moves out of range easily.

Kobashi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pung tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kobashi controls the position.
Kobashi looking to control but instead Pung has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Pung actively working from the bottom here.
Pung won't allow Kobashi to pass to mount.
Kobashi wants to get back to his feet.
Kobashi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pung does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pung moves into the clinch successfully.

Pung pulls Kobashi into guard.
Pung looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kobashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Pung is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pung is trying to keep Kobashi in close.

Kobashi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pung dives on top into guard.
Pung passes Kobashi's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kobashi is looking to improve his position.
Kobashi trying to get back to full guard but Pung takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Kobashi is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Kobashi is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pung working Kobashi over with strikes here.

Pung has hold of Kobashi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kobashi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kobashi is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pung is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kobashi has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kobashi wants to hold on but Pung pushes him away.
Kobashi tries to improve his position but instead Pung has taken his back!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Pung.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Pung trying to control momentarily.
Kobashi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pung's guard. Nice work there by Kobashi.
Pung trying to strike off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kobashi passes Pung's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kobashi is looking to take a break and control but Pung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pung holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Kobashi wants to pass to mount but Pung is defending the position.
Pung trying to hold on to Kobashi's head to control him but Kobashi postures up.
Kobashi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kobashi is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Kobashi throwing shots but Pung is blocking nicely.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Pung tries for a takedown but Kobashi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kobashi shoots and misses

so Pung counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tung Pung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenta Kobashi.
Pung wanted to stand there but Kobashi had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tung Pung dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kobashi.

Kobashi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pung explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Pung lunges at Kobashi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kobashi's hand.
Pung tries for a takedown but Kobashi circles away easily
and Kobashi counters with a two punch combo.

Kobashi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pung tries to buck Kobashi off but Kobashi is having none of it.

Kobashi is working to tighten is grip on Pung's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pung has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kobashi is really squeezing tight and eventually Pung passes out! Kobashi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kenta Kobashi!
