Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damon Newton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Clifford!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clifford cracks Newton with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Newton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Clifford gets back to half guard.
Clifford regains full guard. Nicely done.
Newton wants to control from the top but Clifford keeps moving.
Clifford had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Newton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Clifford Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Newton's back instead.
Newton tries to roll but Clifford sticks to his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Newton trying to control the action but Clifford just sinks the hooks in.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clifford has his arm under Newton's chin here. Game over son! Clifford squeezes tightly and Newton is forced to tap out!
