PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Dresari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bredemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dresari comes to the cage accompanied by Execution Song. On his way into the cage it seems that Jake Dresari has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jake Dresari seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Dresari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Bredemann!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Bredemann.
Bredemann swats away the attempt to clinch by Dresari.
Dresari is looking to clinch but Bredemann is avoiding it.
Dresari fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bredemann shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dresari wants to clinch up but Bredemann keeps it at a distance.

Bredemann drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dresari is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bredemann is looking to take a break and control but Dresari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dresari is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dresari wants to control but Bredemann postures up.
Dresari is being controlled here.
Bredemann tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Bredemann controlling the position from side mount.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Dresari avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bredemann.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bredemann shoots in looking for a takedown. Dresari tries to sprawl out of it but Bredemann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dresari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bredemann shoots for a double leg takedown but Dresari sprawls well. He's pushed Bredemann's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jake Dresari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Bredemann.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Bredemann looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bredemann is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dresari looking for a guillotine here but Bredemann defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Bredemann dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Bredemann drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Bredemann stands up from Dresari's guard - Bredemann perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dresari wants to clinch up but Bredemann keeps it at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bredemann gets a takedown into half guard.
Dresari trying to get back to full guard but Bredemann takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Dresari tries to control the position but Bredemann now has his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
I really don't envy Dresari right now.
Bredemann is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Dresari trying to get back to his feet but Bredemann is in full control for now.
Bredemann is not going to allow Dresari to sit and survive in this position.

Bredemann controlling from the back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Bredemann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Bredemann moves into the clinch successfully.
Bredemann tries to pull guard but Dresari holds him up against the cage and eventually Bredemann drops back down to his feet.
Dresari tries to land a knee to the head but Bredemann blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bredemann tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dresari just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bredemann jumps guard but Dresari stands there with Bredemann around his waist. Bredemann gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dresari connects with a nasty looking knee right to Bredemann's face.


It looks like Ryan Bredemann has been cut.
Bredemann drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bredemann tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dresari just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dresari throws an elbow that misses.
Bredemann throws an elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bredemann blocks an elbow strike.
Dresari lands an elbow just above Bredemann 's eye.
Bredemann fails to pull guard.
Dresari misses with a knee to the head.
Stalling in the clinch from Dresari.

Bredemann has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dresari is trying to keep an underhook but Bredemann manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Dresari is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bredemann seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bredemann is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jake Dresari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dresari can't escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ryan Bredemann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bredemann winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
