PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sevak Magakian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magakian comes to the cage accompanied by Sevak Magakian Highlights. Both these fighters had to take extra time to make weight as they missed the initial 155lb limit. Sevak Magakian came in at 156.2 and Clay Guida came in at 157.0 but after the extra two hours, both guys managed to get within the one pound allowance. No doubt it will have affected them physically though, so let's see if that has an impact on the fight. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magakian fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Guida as Magakian shoots in.
Guida changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Magakian tries to avoid it but Guida manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Magakian to the ground. Magakian escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Magakian throws a series of punches but Guida moves out of range.
Guida doesn't manage to clinch there - Magakian circles away.

Guida drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Magakian gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Guida is fighting off a takedown attempt but Magakian is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Guida to the mat. Guida regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Magakian got a little sloppy there for a moment and Guida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Magakian has managed to get both his arms back between Guida's legs - danger averted.
