Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone lands with a hook. Staunton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Stone rushes Staunton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Stone tries a knee to the head but Staunton blocks it.
Staunton tries to pull guard but Stone forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Stone stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Staunton has Stone pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stone manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Stone lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Staunton tries to break the clinch but Stone is controlling the position.
Staunton is trying to pull guard but Stone has him pressed against the cage.
Ben Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Staunton.

Staunton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Staunton is trying to drag Stone to the mat but Stone just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Staunton is trying to force a seperation but Stone has the dominant position.

Stone is pressed up against the cage. Staunton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stone down to the mat. Stone avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ben Stone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab lands there for Stone.
Stone lands with a hook. Staunton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stone connects with a right hand. Staunton shakes it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Staunton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.

An inside leg kick lands from Stone.
Staunton looks gassed!
Stone fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Staunton on the side of the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Staunton gets tackled into the cage by Stone. Stone maintains the clinch.

Staunton is rocked!
Stone landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Staunton is still on wobbly legs! Can Stone finish him?
Stone has Staunton pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Staunton is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Stone - that's hurt Staunton badly! Oh, another knee lands and Staunton is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Staunton doesn't seem to be complaining.
