Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kozlov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kozlov is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kozlov cracks a nice hook into Rua's ribs.
Kozlov is looking to clinch.
Kozlov throws a hook but Rua blocks it.
Kozlov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rua.
Rua checks a low kick from Kozlov.

and Rua makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rua fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kozlov is out of range.

Rua shoots in for a takedown but Kozlov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kozlov moves away.
Rua bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kozlov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kozlov there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rua scores with a spinning back kick!

and Rua counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Kozlov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rua throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kozlov's head.

Kozlov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rua moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nice shot by Rua.
Rua lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rua bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Rua.
Jab, jab by Kozlov - just one landing.
Kozlov wants to land a leg kick but Rua is out of range.

Rua is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kozlov had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

and Rua counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kozlov's knee momentarily.
Kozlov wants to clinch up but Rua keeps it at a distance.

Rua tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kozlov is able to avoid easily.

Oh Kozlov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rua lands with an overhand left.
Kozlov tries to clinch up but Rua circles away and keeps his distance.

and Rua counters with a head kick that wobbles Kozlov - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Rua sends him down. This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Renato Rua gave a big smile as he said 'Yo baby!'.
