PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Pinto Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Reles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinto comes to the cage accompanied by Bibiano Fernandes Highlights [HELLO JAPAN] . Reles is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bone Thugs N Harmony - Mo' Murda. On his way into the cage it seems that Antonio Pinto Pinto has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Antonio Pinto Pinto seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abe Reles!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pinto feints and as Reles raises his hands in defense, Pinto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pinto tries to free his leg and advance position but Reles is retaining full guard.

Pinto is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reles is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reles has escaped and now he's on top!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reles's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Pinto wants to sweep but no luck.

Pinto has his foot on Reles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reles works his way back into a safe position though.

Reles is in close to Pinto's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pinto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pinto tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pinto throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Reles escapes and throws Pinto's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Reles is taking a breather. Pinto says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reles makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Reles must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Reles slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pinto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reles!

Pinto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pinto is thwarting Reles's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reles tries to roll over but Pinto keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Abe Reles will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pinto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Reles throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reles is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Antonio Pinto Pinto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reles digs a good hook to Pinto's body.
Pinto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Reles paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reles bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pinto's head.

A punch combination from Reles misses.
Reles lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pinto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reles was covering up waiting for the punch and Pinto finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pinto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Reles manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pinto has Reles in his guard.

Reles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pinto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reles gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pinto sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

I would just about give that final round to Abe Reles.
Well Reles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
