Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cortland Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hooligan Nick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hooligan Nick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nick misses with a head kick.
Cartwright dodges the punch combination from Nick.
Nick scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Cortland Cartwright has been cut.
Cartwright slips a jab and a cross from Nick.
Cartwright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nick paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nick gets tackled into the cage by Cartwright. Cartwright maintains the clinch.
Nick wants to break free but Cartwright has control.
Nick wants to break the clinch but can't.

Cartwright pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nick scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Good leg kick by Cartwright there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick by Nick misses
and Cartwright makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Nick swats away the attempt to clinch by Cartwright.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nick but Nick pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nick throws a sloppy head kick and Cartwright moves out of range easily.
Nick doesn't manage to clinch there - Cartwright circles away.
Nick swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cartwright counters by moving into the clinch.

Cartwright keeps control of Nick as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Cartwright's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nick gets tackled into the cage by Cartwright. Cartwright maintains the clinch.

Cartwright breaks from the clinch.
Nick scores with a punch to the head.

Nick clinches up against the cage.

Cartwright pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nick misses with a double jab.
Cartwright scores with a sloppy right hand. Nick should have avoided that one.
Nick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cartwright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cartwright feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nick's calf.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nick throws an overhand right that lands on Cartwright's shoulder, as Cartwright tries to avoid the shot.
Nick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nick forces Cartwright back against the cage and clinches.

Cartwright pulls Nick into guard.
Nick is looking to stand up but Cartwright won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cartwright is looking for a triangle but Nick pushes his legs off easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cartwright is on top in guard.
Cartwright stands and throws Nick's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Cartwright tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cartwright has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cartwright tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Nick is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Cartwright looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Nick is avoiding damage well.
Nick wants to get back to his feet.

Cartwright thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cartwright has an Americana. Nick didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cartwright is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cartwright hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
