PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Redshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redshaw kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ACDC - Skies on Fire. Garcia has chosen The Slam as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter Redshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alejandro Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redshaw throws out a loose jab but Garcia uses good head movement to avoid it.
Garcia throws a right hand that Redshaw ducks under and follows up with a left that Redshaw also avoids with ease.
Redshaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Redshaw works Garcia's body with a nice hook.
Redshaw tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Redshaw fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garcia manages to avoid it.
Redshaw swings for the body but Garcia moves out of range.

Redshaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Redshaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Redshaw lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Garcia is desperately trying to improve his position but Redshaw has a good base and remains in mount.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Redshaw connects with a nice short shot to Garcia's temple.

Redshaw is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garcia is just riding it out for now. Redshaw eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Garcia tries to kick Redshaw off but Redshaw keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Redshaw lands a nice short elbow.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dexter Redshaw.
Well Redshaw has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
