Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alf Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis looks to land a combination but Tanner avoids it well.
Tanner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Davis moves away.
Davis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tanner was well out of range. Poor timing from Davis.
Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis throws a right and a left that Tanner avoids nicely.
Davis misses the shot to the body.
Davis thows a left - swing and a miss!
Davis thuds his right hand into Tanner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Tanner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tanner as he avoids it easily.
Tanner throws a body punch but Davis moves out of range.
Tanner misses the jab.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Tanner lands a nice hook to Davis's body. Davis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Tanner counters with a leg kick.

Tanner throws a sloppy head kick and Davis moves out of range easily.

Tanner tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.

Tanner takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Tanner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Tanner with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Davis to score with a decent uppercut.

Tanner rushes Davis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Tanner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.

Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tanner was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Tanner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Tanner.
Davis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tanners jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Alf Tanner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Horrible takedown by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Tanner which made him look bad.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters circling - Tanner throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Tanner throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Davis.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mr Phil Davis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Davis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tanner has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tanner fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Davis.
Mr Phil Davis is winning the standup battle so far.
Davis shoots in but Tanner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tanner motions for Davis to come forward. Tanner throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Davis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tanner napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Tanner is bucking up trying to escape but Davis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
