Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Lynott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynott comes into the arena with Out in the Fields blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phil Lynott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Randall!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynott closes the distance but Randall moves to the side
and Randall counters with a one-two to the body.
Phil Lynott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lynott looks to clinch
and Randall counters with a head kick.

Lynott darts in and clinches Randall up against the cage.
Lynott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Randall's efforts to push away.

Randall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lynott moves to clinch but Randall breaks away
and Randall counters with a left to the body.
Horrible takedown by Randall or perhaps it was just good defense by Lynott which made him look bad.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Randall misses the shot to the body.

Lynott moves into the clinch successfully.
Randall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Randall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lynott tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Randall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lynott's guard.
Lynott trying to keep a closed guard but Randall is proving a slippery customer.

Randall wants to control from the top but Lynott keeps moving.
Lynott looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Randall stops Lynott from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lynott darts in trying to clinch
and Randall finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Randall pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Randall counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lynott won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lynott wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynott throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Randall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Randall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Randall tries to advance to mount but Lynott denies him.
Lynott is trying to get back to his feet.
Lynott struggling a bit here.
Randall takes a little break here. Lynott wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Lynott pushes Randall away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Randall gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Randall in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Lynott throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Randall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lynott sprawls well initially but Randall persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Randall has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Randall fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Randall wants to control the pace but Lynott is squirming around nicely.
Randall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lynott is trying to escape the mount but Randall keeps good control and instead manages to take Lynott's back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lynott is trying to stand back up.

Randall is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lynott knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lynott for a finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Randall dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Randall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lynott darts in trying to clinch
and Randall counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lynott closes the distance but Randall moves to the side

and Randall counters with a single leg into guard. Lynott didn't expect that.
Randall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Randall passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Randall trying to mount his opponent but Lynott defends it.
Randall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Randall is trying to control. Lynott wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lynott is looking to escape.

Lynott makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

and Randall counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Randall.
Randall slips nicely into half guard.
Randall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Randall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lynott is just riding it out for now. Randall eventually gives up the hold.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Randall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lynott swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Randall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

What can Lynott do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lynott wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randy Randall hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
