PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyrus Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cyrus Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lesnar checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lesnar shoots in for a double leg but Black sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Black throws a leg kick but Lesnar sees it coming and moves out of range.
Black is breathing heavily.
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side.

Lesnar gets a double leg takedown into Black's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lesnar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lesnar wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.
Black preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lesnar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lesnar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lesnar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lesnar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Black is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar in side control lands a decent elbow.
Lesnar scores with punches from side control.
Lesnar working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Black is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lesnar is working Black over with some ground and pound from side control.
Lesnar scores with a couple of short elbows.
Lesnar tries to score with some ground and pound. Black controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Lesnar tries to advance to mount but can't.
Lesnar lands a decent elbow from side control.
Black is not content to let Lesnar control the position.

Lesnar in side control, throwing shots but Black defends.
Lesnar trying to control the position but Black is working away.

Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working.

Lesnar trying to control the action but Black is working from the bottom.
Check out the look on Lesnar's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Black is not content to let Lesnar control the position.
Black takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Black is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lesnar connects with a decent elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Black defending against the ground and pound.

Lesnar cracks Black with a big elbow.
Lesnar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar working the body and head with strikes.
Lesnar lands some shots froms side control.
Black is not content to let Lesnar control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lesnar is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The strikes coming from Lesnar are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Lesnar wants to control but Black is keeping him busy.
Lesnar is putting a hurting on Black here, landing some big shots from side control.
Black prevents Lesnar from improving position.
Lesnar cracks Black with a big elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lesnar lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Lesnar creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Black sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Black is not content to let Lesnar control the position.
Black takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jeff Lesnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lesnar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
