PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boleslaw Krol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hrady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krol's entrance music is Rage Against The Machine - Guerrilla Radio. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Hrady!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krol throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hrady's waist but Hrady gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krol off to one side.

Krol drives through with a takedown into Hrady's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hrady has his foot on Krol's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Krol works his way back into a safe position though.
Hrady not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Krol postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hrady is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Krol, into his guard.
Krol has a closed guard, preventing Hrady from standing up.
Krol wants to hit a switch here but Hrady passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Krol there!
Hrady controlling the pace for now.

Krol wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Even with his hooks in, Hrady manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Krol defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hrady's arms.
Krol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hrady on the ground.
Krol wants to control his opponent's hands but Hrady gets his hands free.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Hrady controlling the positon.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hrady's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Hrady has the hooks in. Krol is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Krol is trying to break free.

Hrady is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Krol tries to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krol closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Despite being in a bad position, Krol is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.
Hrady struggling to land strikes to the head as Krol covers up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Hrady hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hrady defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Krol.
Hrady shoots in and drives through. Krol sprawls well.
Krol uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hrady.
James Hrady is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Krol is looking for a sweep. Hrady is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Krol is trying to maintain the position but Hrady is very close to passing his half guard.

It looks like Hrady is going to stand back up.

Hrady blocks the strikes from Krol.
Hrady thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Krol's head.
Hrady is trying to control. Krol wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hrady is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

James Hrady has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Krol fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Hrady gets tackled into the cage by Krol. Krol maintains the clinch.

Boleslaw Krol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Hrady.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hrady tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Krol looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Krol scores with a shoulder strike.

Krol gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hrady regains guard.
Krol throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Krol is in close to Hrady's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krol accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
James Hrady is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Hrady has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Krol can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
