Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jairo Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Darrell Abbott has been cut.
Abbott tries to clinch but Velasquez moves out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Velasquez misses the target.
Velasquez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Abbott lands with a thumping leg kick.
Velasquez circles away from the clinch attempt.

Abbott tries to close the distance and clinch but Velasquez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Abbott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
