Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diggler comes to the cage accompanied by KEEP IT MOVIN. Gracie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Boris Brejcha - Openminded kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ricardo Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dirk Diggler!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Dirk Diggler has been cut.
Gracie lands with an uppercut that bounces Diggler off the cage and back into range.
Gracie fails to land with a series of punches.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diggler swivels and escapes.

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Diggler!

Gracie looking to secure an arm triangle but Diggler defends it well.
Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Diggler looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie has control of Diggler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Diggler regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Diggler has given up his back.
Diggler has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Gracie.
Diggler manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Gracie is now in side control.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Diggler stops Gracie from passing to mount.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diggler, who protects the arm well.
Gracie tries to advance to mount but Diggler denies him.

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gracie looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Diggler is avoiding damage well.

Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Diggler rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by Diggler!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Diggler won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.

Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diggler defends well.
Diggler won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
Gracie looking to control but Diggler passes into half guard.
Diggler slows the pace down in half guard.
Gracie tries to get to full guard but Diggler has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gracie takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ricardo Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Diggler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie misses with a few strikes there.
Diggler with a hook.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice takedown defense from Diggler. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Diggler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gracie looks to land a body kick but Diggler moved away.
Diggler pushes Gracie away with a front kick.
Diggler tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Diggler catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gracie, right into the meat.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Diggler shows good takedown defense.
Dirk Diggler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Gracie.

Diggler scores with a nice head shot.
Diggler moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Diggler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Crunch! Diggler slams his shin into Gracie's torso.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Diggler thows a body shot but no joy.
Diggler connects with an inside leg kick.
Diggler lands a lovely overhand right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diggler sprawls well. Diggler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Diggler throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dirk Diggler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Diggler. That's going to slow Gracie down.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Gracie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot.
Diggler scores with a spinning back kick!
Diggler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Dirk Diggler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Diggler lands with a good body shot.
Diggler throws a front kick that sends Gracie stumbling back into the cage.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Diggler is just out of range.
Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Diggler to score with a decent uppercut.
Gracie takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gracie connects with a body shot.
Diggler throws a head kick that misses.
Diggler fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Diggler leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Diggler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Diggler goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diggler as he avoids it easily.
Gracie's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Diggler lands a glancing blow to the side of Gracie's head.
Diggler throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.
Diggler throws a one two combo.
Diggler connects with a single shot there.


Gracie is rocked!

Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Diggler finish him?

Diggler punishes Gracie's body with a nice straight punch.
BOOM! Diggler lands a beautiful left hook that drops Gracie. Gracie tries to recover but Diggler is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Gracie lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
