And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oghait Siap!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siap lands a lovely overhand right.


It looks like Raphael Roberto has been cut.
Roberto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Siap cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Siap catches Roberto napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Roberto to the canvas!


Roberto is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Siap sitting in guard here, content to control.
Siap content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Siap controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Roberto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Siap.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Siap throws a big elbow that misses.
Siap postures up in Roberto's guard and throws a big left but Roberto blocks it.
Siap wants to pass the guard but Roberto is keeping the position.
Siap working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Roberto's head.
Siap controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Siap distracts Roberto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Siap lands a couple of elbows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Siap looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Roberto on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roberto tries to get out of the position.

Siap is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Siap seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Siap throws a big elbow that misses.

Siap lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Roberto has momentary wrist control but Siap slips an elbow through the middle.
Siap is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Siap stands up over Roberto, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Siap scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Siap sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Roberto's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Siap passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Roberto!
Siap fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Siap is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Siap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Oghait Siap!
Oghait Siap decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
