Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ThunderStruck. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Burgundy!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm fails with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Burgundy digs a good body shot into Storm's ribs.
Burgundy cracks a nice hook into Storm's ribs.

Storm dives in and scores a takedown into Burgundy's guard.

Storm postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Burgundy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Storm, into his guard.
Burgundy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Storm working for a triangle but Burgundy defends it easily.

Burgundy stands and steps away. Storm gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Storm lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Burgundy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Burgundy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Ron Burgundy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Storm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burgundy's waist but Burgundy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Storm off to one side.

Storm has hold of one of Burgundy's legs. Burgundy is fighting the takedown attempt but Storm gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ron Burgundy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Burgundy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fighters circle momentarily. Burgundy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Burgundy throws a head kick but Storm moves out of range.
Burgundy looks to score with a jab to the body but Storm is just out of range.
Storm takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Burgundy slaps away a takedown attempt from Storm, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Burgundy lunges at Storm with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Storm's hand.
Ron Burgundy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Burgundy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Storm on the side of the head.
Burgundy cracks the inside of Storm's front leg.

Burgundy pushes Storm up against the cage in a clinch.
Burgundy digs a right hand underneath Storm's ribcage. Storm let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Burgundy scores with a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Burgundy lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Storm backwards.
Still in the clinch, Burgundy scores with a nice short uppercut.

Burgundy lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Storm.

Burgundy is working Storm over against the cage.
Burgundy lands with a left to the head.


Storm is rocked!
Burgundy lands a nice uppercut.
Oh Storm is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Burgundy throws a big uppercut that drops Storm! More strikes from Burgundy and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Storm lies dazed against the cage as Burgundy celebrates with his cornermen!

A relieved looking Ron Burgundy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
