PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henric Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Buck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andersen's entrance music is Sultans Of Swing. A fine choice. Henric Andersen has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henric Andersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harold Buck!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Andersen throws a lazy right hand but Buck sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Buck connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Andersen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Buck circles away quickly and effectively.
Buck thuds a left hand into Andersen's body.
Andersen slaps away a takedown attempt from Buck, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Buck feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Buck controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Buck wants to control from the top but Andersen keeps moving.
Andersen is looking to stand up but Buck isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Andersen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Buck throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Andersen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Andersen wants to break free but Buck has control.
Buck has Andersen pressed against the cage, preventing Andersen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Andersen jumps guard but Buck turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Andersen successfully pulls guard.

Buck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Buck lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Buck won't allow Andersen to get back to his feet.
Buck trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Buck trying to control but Andersen is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andersen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Buck prevents Andersen from getting back to his feet.

Buck decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Andersen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Buck slips a jab and a cross from Andersen.
Buck wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Henric Andersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buck looks to throw the jab but Andersen is out of range.
Buck scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Buck scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Andersen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Buck is able to avoid easily.
A combination from Andersen does no damage.
Buck misses with a two punch combination.
Buck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Andersen circles away quickly and effectively.
Andersen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Andersen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Buck counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Andersen's guard now.

Andersen is looking for a triangle but Buck pushes his legs off easily.

Buck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Andersen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Buck loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buck tries to free his leg and advance position but Andersen is retaining full guard.
Buck wants to control from the top but Andersen keeps moving.

Andersen manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Buck avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Andersen throws a sloppy head kick and Buck moves out of range easily.

Andersen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Buck manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Buck throws a series of punches but Andersen avoids them all with ease.
Buck swings for the body but Andersen moves out of range.
Buck connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Andersen's hands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Buck decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Andersen is looking for a sweep. Buck is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Buck is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andersen is just riding it out for now. Buck eventually gives up the hold.

Buck is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Andersen slaps away a takedown attempt from Buck, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Andersen throws a series of punches but Buck moves out of range.
Andersen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Buck.
Buck shoots in looking for a takedown but Andersen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Andersen throws a head kick but Buck moves out of range.

Andersen forces Buck back against the cage and clinches.

Buck has hold of one of Andersen's legs. Andersen is fighting the takedown attempt but Buck gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Andersen controls Buck momentarily but Buck frees himself.

Andersen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Buck gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Buck pushes down on Andersen's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Andersen is defending against the submission attempts here by Buck.

Buck wants to work for an arm triangle but Andersen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Buck seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Andersen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Andersen looks like he's trying to stand up.

Buck is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Andersen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Buck is working away from the top position though.

Buck is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Andersen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Buck has control of Andersen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Andersen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harold Buck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Buck moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Buck connects with a body shot that sends Andersen's belly button to the back.
Andersen throws a sloppy head kick and Buck moves out of range easily.

It looks like Harold Buck has been cut.
Andersen throws a low kick, looking for Buck's leg but Buck calmly moves out of range.
Buck lands a jab-cross combination.

Andersen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Buck to score with a decent uppercut.
Buck uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Andersen.
A nice combination there by Buck.
Andersen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Andersen enables Buck to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Andersen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Buck got a little sloppy there for a moment and Andersen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Buck has managed to get both his arms back between Andersen's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Buck with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Buck wants to control the pace but Andersen is squirming around nicely.

I've got Buck winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
