Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wooden Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Pencil's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Pencil avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pencil utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smith with a flurry of punches that miss.

Smith throws an elbow that misses. Pencil uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Pencil!
Smith pulls Pencil in close to his closed guard and prevents Pencil from doing any damage or advancing position.

Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pencil's guard.
Smith missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pencil will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith throws a strike but Pencil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pencil would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pencil is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wooden Pencil.

Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Pencil regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Smith.
Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Smith postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Pencil wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Smith lands a couple of elbows.
Pencil avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Smith throws a strike but Pencil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sam Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Pencil's head but Pencil avoids it well.
Oh Pencil is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith cracks Pencil with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Pencil dodges the ground and pound from Smith.
Pencil seems to have got his legs back now.
Pencil defending against the ground and pound.
Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Pencil's head but Pencil avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pencil pushes Smith away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smith gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Smith looks up at the clock and then as Pencil takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Smith smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The crowd goes nuts as Smith knocks Pencil out cold with a massive hammerfist! Smith Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
