Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schultz is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Rob Schultz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Schultz !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Franky Young!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz misses with a hook
and Young counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Schultz is breathing heavily.
Young lands a nice leg kick that just misses Schultz 's sensitive parts.
Schultz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
An inside leg kick lands from Young.

Young closes the distance and pushes Schultz back into the cage.
Young scores with a hook to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Young creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Schultz blocks a body shot from Young.
Young misses with a body punch.
Young works on Schultz 's body with a couple of short punches.

Young fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Schultz goes for a takedown attempt but Young pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Young pushes Schultz away with a front kick.
Schultz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Young can pounce on him.
Young lands with a hook. Schultz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Schultz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Young. Young obviously looking to wear him down.
Young lands with a thumping leg kick.
Young ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Young fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Schultz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Young drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Young pushing down on Schultz 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Young seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Young wants to pass the guard but Schultz is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Young is taking a breather. Schultz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Young is looking to advance position but Schultz won't allow it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Young lands a nice short elbow.
Young is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Young is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Young is controlling the pace.
Young has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Young looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Young looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
It looks like Young might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Young works his foot free and advances to mount.

Young controlling the pace for now.
Schultz is squirming around, avoiding Young's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Young connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Young looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Young trying to control but Schultz is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franky Young dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Both fighters circling a little - Young finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Franky Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Young drives through with a takedown into guard.
Young trying to control but Schultz is working from the bottom.
Young landing some decent shots from guard.
Schultz keeping moving, preventing Young from controlling successfully.
Young wants to pass the guard but Schultz is keeping the position.
Young trying to control the position from guard on top but Schultz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Franky Young has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Schultz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Schultz there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Young darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Young connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Young lands a nice leg kick that just misses Schultz 's sensitive parts.

Young decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Franky Young has got the better of the ground game so far.
Young wants to control but Schultz is keeping him busy.
Young is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Young is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Schultz is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Schultz flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Young anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Schultz and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Young slips an arm under Schultz chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Young has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Young is squeezing on Schultz like an anaconda would it's prey. Schultz fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Franky Young!
