Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Future (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Future!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pinto!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pinto.

Pinto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pinto lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jose Pinto hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pinto moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Pinto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Future keeps working.

and Future counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Pinto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
John Future has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Pinto.
Future misses with an uppercut. Pinto saw that one coming.
Nice straight punches there by Pinto. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pinto.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Future wants to get back to his feet but Pinto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Pinto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Future on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Future is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pinto.
Pinto moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pinto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Future's waist but Future gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pinto off to one side.

Future tests Pinto's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Future.
Future darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pinto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Future pinned against the cage. Future gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
John Future has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Pinto.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pinto thows a body shot but no joy.
Pinto has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Future cracks Pinto with a right hand to the side of the head.

Future throws a looping overhand right but Pinto ducks down to avoid it.
Pinto shoots in for a takedown but Future shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pinto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Future on his heels. He'll look to pass Future's guard now, I'm sure.

Pinto tries to free his leg and advance position but Future is retaining full guard.
Future is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Future will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pinto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


Pinto is rocked!
Pinto looks up at the clock. Bad move! Future lands a right hand from hell, dropping Pinto. Future pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Future!
