Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rustly Shackleford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagdiyev comes to the cage accompanied by The Prodigy - Firestarter. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Borat Sagdiyev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rustly Shackleford!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shackleford displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sagdiyev.
Shackleford throws a series of punches but Sagdiyev avoids them all with ease.
Shackleford throws a lazy right hand but Sagdiyev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The fighters circling - Shackleford throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shackleford misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sagdiyev.
Shackleford throws a sloppy head kick and Sagdiyev moves out of range easily.
Sagdiyev pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shackleford.
Sagdiyev shoots in and drives through. Shackleford sprawls well.
Sagdiyev misses with a two punch combination.
Shackleford throws a hook but Sagdiyev avoids it easily.

Sagdiyev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shackleford on his heels. He'll look to pass Shackleford's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Sagdiyev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shackleford manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sagdiyev has Shackleford in his guard.

Shackleford avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sagdiyev is trying to control the position but Shackleford postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sagdiyev throws his legs up looking for a submission but Shackleford uses it to pass to side control.
Sagdiyev is trying to work for a sweep but Shackleford has mounted him!

Shackleford wants to control the pace but Sagdiyev is squirming around nicely.

Sagdiyev working for a triangle but Shackleford defends it easily.

Sagdiyev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shackleford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sagdiyev shoots in for a takedown but Shackleford shows good takedown defense.
Borat Sagdiyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sagdiyev pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sagdiyev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shackleford tries to avoid it but Sagdiyev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shackleford to the ground. Shackleford escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sagdiyev moves out of range as Shackleford strikes.
Sagdiyev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shackleford defends it nicely.

and Shackleford counters with a right hand to the body.
Shackleford throws a right hand that Sagdiyev ducks under and follows up with a left that Sagdiyev also avoids with ease.
Sagdiyev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shackleford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sagdiyev somewhat.

Sagdiyev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shackleford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sagdiyev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sagdiyev goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Shackleford turns into him and now he's in Sagdiyev's guard.
Sagdiyev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shackleford's guard.
Rustly Shackleford has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Borat Sagdiyev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sagdiyev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shackleford swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Borat Sagdiyev.

Sagdiyev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sagdiyev has hold of Shackleford's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Shackleford tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sagdiyev cranks the arm and Shackleford screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Shackleford, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Borat Sagdiyev!
Post fight, an emotional Borat Sagdiyev said 'I arrived in America with clothings, US dollars, and a jar of gypsy tears to protect me from AIDS'.
