The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Melo.
Soplamocos swings for the body but Melo moves out of range.
Melo looks to land a right hand but Soplamocos moved out of range.
Soplamocos misses with a looping left.
Soplamocos throws an off balance right hand
and Melo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Soplamocos.
Melo misses with a low kick.
Soplamocos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Melo.
Soplamocos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Melo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Melo throws a front kick aimed at Soplamocos's knee but Soplamocos avoids it well.
Melo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Soplamocos scoring well with a low kick there.
Soplamocos scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Soplamocos shoots in but Melo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Soplamocos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Soplamocos throws an elbow but Melo slips to the side and avoids it well.

Soplamocos wants to control but Melo is keeping him busy.

Soplamocos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Soplamocos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Soplamocos is just content to waste time from the top position. Melo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Soplamocos sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Melo doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Soplamocos paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Melo - great work!
