Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yama Lakes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Summers!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lakes can pounce on him.
Lakes slips under a jab.
Summers takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Summers tries a low kick but Lakes avoids it.
Lakes throws a nice outside leg kick.
Summers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lakes throws a head kick but Summers moves out of range.
Lakes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lakes throws a head kick that misses.
Lakes checks the leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Summers.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lakes.

Lakes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Summers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lakes working for a triangle but Summers defends it easily.
Summers passes Lakes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lakes is looking to control Summers's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lakes avoid being mounted?

Lakes looking for submissions off his back.
Summers throwing shots but Lakes is blocking nicely.

Lakes looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Summers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lakes sees it coming and defends easily.
Summers stops Lakes from getting back to his feet.

Summers is trying to work for a kimura but Lakes is defending well.
Summers scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lakes trying to control here.

Lakes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Summers pulls his head out easily.
Summers prevents Lakes from improving his position.
Summers slows the pace down in half guard.
Summers working the head and body with strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Summers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Summers is nestled in close to Lakes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lakes looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lakes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Summers.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Summers performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lakes taking some punishment here, with Summers in his half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Summers throwing shots but Lakes is blocking nicely.
Lakes wants to control but Summers is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lakes wants to get back to full guard but Summers has passed into side control.
Summers is putting a hurting on Lakes here, landing some big shots from side control.


It looks like Yama Lakes has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lakes taking a bit of punishment here - Summers scoring with strikes.
Summers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lakes keeps working.

Summers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lakes, who protects the arm well.

Summers working the ground and pound.


Yama Lakes's cut is getting worse.
Summers scoring with punches from side control.
Lakes is being controlled here.
Lakes is looking for a sweep.
Lakes is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Summers advances to mount.
Lakes tries to hold on but Summers pushes him away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lakes trying desperately to get to his feet.
Lakes is looking to improve his position but Summers isn't that keen on the idea.
Lakes is breathing heavily.
Summers lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Summers dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Yama Lakes's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Summers drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Lakes right on the button. Lakes goes down! Summers follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Summers gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Summers!
