These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sander throws a jab but it's blocked by Barksdale.
Barksdale tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Barksdale takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Barksdale throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Barksdale swings for the body but Sander moves out of range.
Barksdale looks to score with a jab to the body but Sander is just out of range.

Barksdale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sander avoids the body shot from Barksdale.
Barksdale lands a glancing blow to the side of Sander's head.

It looks like Tommy Sander has been cut.
Barksdale sizes up Sander with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sander looks gassed!
Barksdale misses with a looping left.
Barksdale swings for the body but Sander moves out of range.
Barksdale fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sander misses with a two punch combination.
Barksdale tries to clinch up but Sander circles away and keeps his distance.
Avon Barksdale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barksdale will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Sander counters with a three punch combo that has Barksdale backing up. Barksdale nods at Sander to acknowledge the strikes.
Barksdale misses with a straight left.
Sander takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barksdale lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Sander - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Barksdale!
