Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George St Peirre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yeah Man!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Peirre.
Man fails with the takedown.

Peirre looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Man!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Man is trying desperately to improve position.
Peirre controlling from the full mount.
Peirre is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Man can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Peirre jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Man manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Man's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Man tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Peirre just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Peirre working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peirre trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Peirre working for a choke but Man reverses nicely into Peirre 's guard.
Man wants to stand and escape but instead Peirre has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peirre works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peirre missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Peirre is looking to advance position but Man won't allow it.
Ground and pound from Peirre.
Peirre prevents Man from improving his position.

Man manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man misses with a head kick.
Man fails with the takedown

and Peirre counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Peirre wants to pass to mount but Man is defending the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Man is trying to control but Peirre manages to pass to mount!
Peirre trying to control but Man is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Man tries to reverse the position but Peirre maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George St Peirre dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peirre.
Horrible takedown by Peirre or perhaps it was just good defense by Man which made him look bad.
George St Peirre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peirre on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Man. Man obviously looking to wear him down.
Man lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A head kick misses from Man.
Man shoots for a takedown but Peirre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peirre is defended easily by Man.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George St Peirre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peirre but Peirre pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Peirre looks for a takedown but Man sprawls well.

Peirre decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Man wants to get back to his feet.
Peirre sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Man defending well though.
Peirre slows the pace down in half guard.

Man is trying is best to control the position here.
Man tries to roll over but Peirre keeps him under control.
Peirre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Man does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Peirre uses his free foot to push down on Man's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Man.

Peirre connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Man is breathing heavily.
Man working to try and regain half guard.
Peirre wants to control the pace but Man is squirming around nicely.
Peirre working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Peirre trying to control but Man is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Peirre lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Peirre lands a heavy elbow.


It looks like Yeah Man has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Man really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Man tries to hold on but Peirre pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peirre lands a big elbow.
Peirre landing strikes from the mount and Man is in trouble!


That has opened up Yeah Man's cut even more.
Peirre with shots to the head and body - Man looks very uncomfortable down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George St Peirre dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Yeah Man's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Peirre darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Peirre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Man is just riding it out for now. Peirre eventually gives up the hold.

Man looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Man is not content to let Peirre control the position.

Peirre stops Man from getting back to his feet.
Man is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Peirre is trying to work for a kimura but Man is defending well.
Peirre is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peirre drops an elbow to the side of Man's head.
Man is looking to escape.
Man takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Peirre slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peirre scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peirre slips a nice elbow through Man's hands, connecting with Man's forehead.
Man trying to control here.
Peirre controlling the action here.
Peirre trying to control the action but Man is working from the bottom.
Nice strikes from Peirre there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Peirre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Man keeps working.
Peirre seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Peirre sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Peirre passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Man!

And that's the end of the fight!
George St Peirre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peirre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
