Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Buchanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Remnant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Remnant!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Remnant fails with the takedown

and Buchanan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buchanan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Buchanan trying to control but Remnant is working from the bottom.
Remnant throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Remnant thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Buchanan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Buchanan drops back looking for a leg! Remnant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Remnant manages to kick Buchanan off! Buchanan jumps back into Remnant's guard.

Buchanan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Remnant has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Buchanan has managed to get both his arms back between Remnant's legs - danger averted.

Remnant wants to sweep but no luck.
Remnant is looking to sweep but instead, Buchanan has passed into half guard.

Buchanan is looking for a kimura but Remnant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Buchanan to get the leverage.

Buchanan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Remnant doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Buchanan.
Remnant is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Buchanan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Buchanan's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Buchanan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Remnant does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Buchanan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Remnant with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Buchanan connects with a nice short shot to Remnant's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Remnant sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Remnant walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Buchanan has control of Remnant's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Remnant regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Buchanan is working for a rear naked choke. Remnant is not defending it well and Buchanan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Remnant refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Remnant's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
