The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meredith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Meredith tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Meredith manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Meredith has Jones pressed against the cage.
Meredith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Meredith is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Meredith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meredith somewhat.
Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meredith.
Meredith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones tries to kick Meredith off but Meredith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Meredith wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meredith throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Meredith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Meredith persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.

Meredith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Meredith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Meredith has his feet on Jones's thighs here. He's pushed Jones off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jones screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
