The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Funkyama.
Funkyama connects with the punch.
That kick from Funkyama tenderised Damtea's leg. Damtea is trying to keep his angry face on.
Damtea feints and as Funkyama raises his hands in defense, Damtea changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Damtea thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Damtea stands and throws Funkyama's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Damtea has hold of Funkyama's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Funkyama tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Damtea cranks the arm and Funkyama screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Funkyama, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
