The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden takes a swing at Sax's ribcage but misses.

Durden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sax napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Durden cracks Sax with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Sax is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Durden has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Sax is trying to control Durden's posture but Durden avoids it.

Sax is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Durden is controlling him well.

Durden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sax doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Durden.

Sax is not content to let Durden control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durden is trying to move to mount but Sax reverses beautifully and ends up in Durden's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durden lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sax tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durden sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sax somewhat.
