Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Arbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Arbor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Madsen!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madsen throws a head kick but Arbor moves out of range.
Madsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arbor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Madsen somewhat.
Arbor closes the distance and clinches up with Madsen, looking for a takedown. Arbor pushes Madsen against the cage but Madsen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Arbor takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Arbor gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Arbor swats away the attempt to clinch by Madsen.

Madsen rushes Arbor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Arbor slaps away a takedown attempt from Madsen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Madsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arbor tries to avoid it but Madsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arbor to the ground. Arbor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kurt Arbor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Madsen.
Madsen leaves Arbor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Arbor counters by moving into the clinch.
Arbor could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Arbor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Madsen's waist but Madsen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arbor off to one side.
Arbor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Madsen manages to avoid it.
Madsen shoots in for a takedown but Arbor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Horrible takedown by Madsen or perhaps it was just good defense by Arbor which made him look bad.

Arbor gets tackled into the cage by Madsen. Madsen maintains the clinch.

Arbor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Madsen walks away with a smile on his face. Arbor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Madsen dives in and grabs Arbor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Arbor pushes down on Madsen's head and hops out.
Madsen throws out a leg kick but Arbor moves out of range and Madsen only half commits.
Madsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arbor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Madsen somewhat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Madsen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
