Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geoffrey Roberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spat throws a series of punches but Roberts moves out of range.
Roberts tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Spat clinches up against the cage.

Spat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Spat rushes Roberts and presses him up against the cage.
Spat wants to break the clinch but can't.

Spat breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Roberts doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Spat counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Roberts's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Spat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Roberts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Spat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Spat.
An inside leg kick lands from Spat.
Roberts misses with a head kick.
Spat misses with a jab, cross combination.
Spat fails to land with a series of punches.
Roberts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Spat lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roberts backs up against the cage.


It looks like Geoffrey Roberts has been cut.
Roberts attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Spat tests Roberts's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Roberts shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Spat decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roberts's guard.
Roberts is breathing heavily.
Spat slips nicely into half guard.

Roberts is defending against the submission attempts here by Spat.
Spat content to control rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spat looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Spat content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Spat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Spat.
Roberts shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Spat decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roberts's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geoffrey Roberts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Spat hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Spat bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roberts seems a little lost for a moment, as Spat dominates the positioning.
Spat advances to full mount.
Roberts is looking to get to half guard.
Spat scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Spat controlling his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
It looks like Spat might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Spat dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Geoffrey Roberts's cut.
That's time! Roberts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Roberts is looking to clinch but Spat is avoiding it.
Roberts sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A nice combination there by Spat.
Spat throws a series of punches but Roberts moves out of range.
Jack Spat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Crunch! Spat slams his shin into Roberts's torso.
Spat dips to his left and cracks Roberts with an uppercut!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roberts has his takedown stuffed
and Spat counters with a two punch combo.


Roberts is rocked!
Spat catches Roberts with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Oh Roberts is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Geoffrey Roberts's cut is getting worse.

Spat dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Roberts has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jack Spat!
An out of breath Jack Spat thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
