PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lee Comblin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lungdumtu Amah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lee Comblin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lungdumtu Amah!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Comblin misses with a wild combination.
Comblin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Amah.
Amah fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Comblin.
Amah looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Comblin is fending him off so far but Amah persists. Nope, Comblin circles away and we're back to standing.
Comblin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Comblin looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Comblin throws out a loose jab but Amah uses good head movement to avoid it.
Amah moves out of range of the body kick.
Comblin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fighters circling - Comblin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Comblin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Amah drops back looking for a leg! Comblin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Comblin manages to kick Amah off! Amah jumps back into Comblin's guard.
Amah prevents Comblin from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Comblin keeping moving, preventing Amah from controlling successfully.

Amah stands and steps away. Comblin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Comblin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amah circles away quickly and effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Comblin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Comblin throws a nice looking combination but Amah bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Amah shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Comblin as he avoids it easily.
Lee Comblin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lungdumtu Amah.
Comblin misses with a wild combination.
Comblin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Comblin misses with a series of wild punches.
Comblin tries to land a front kick but Amah steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Amah shoots for a double leg takedown but Comblin sprawls well. He's pushed Amah's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Amah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice takedown defense from Comblin. No joy for Amah on that attempt.
Comblin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Amah wants to clinch up but Comblin keeps it at a distance.
Comblin fails to land with a series of punches.
Amah closes this distance looking for a takedown but Comblin circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No joy there for Comblin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Amah showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Comblin.
Comblin misses with a double jab.

and Amah holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Amah is trying to pull guard but Comblin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Comblin is trying to break the clinch but Amah is controlling him.

Amah has clasped his hands together around Comblin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Amah looks gassed!
Amah tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Comblin is pushing Amah's head away, looking to escape. Amah manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Amah wants to control but Comblin is keeping him busy.

Amah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Amah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Comblin keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Amah content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lungdumtu Amah dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


A punch combination from Comblin misses.

Amah looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Comblin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Comblin tries to get out of the position.
Amah trying to control the action but Comblin is working from the bottom.

Amah is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Comblin pushes Amah off looking to stand but Amah dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amah seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Comblin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Amah is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Comblin sees it coming and defends easily.

Amah is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Amah in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Comblin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Amah!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lungdumtu Amah!
During a confident post fight interview, Lungdumtu Amah thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
