PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Oro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benoit's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Next Big Thing. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit blocks a head kick by Oro.
Benoit tries to clinch but Oro is having none of it.
Oro scores with a head kick. Benoit tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Pedro Benoit has been cut.
Oro delivers a nice body kick.
Benoit misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oro shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Benoit defends it nicely.
Benoit shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oro pinned against the cage. Oro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Oro lands a big head kick that sends Benoit tumbling to the mat! Oro takes a step backwards and waves Benoit back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Benoit is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oro cracks the inside of Benoit's front leg.
Oro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oro throws a hook but Benoit blocks it.
Benoit takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Oro shoots in looking for a takedown. Benoit tries to sprawl out of it but Oro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Benoit manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oro fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Benoit is breathing heavily.

Benoit fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Benoit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oro throws an overhand right that lands on Benoit's shoulder, as Benoit tries to avoid the shot.
Benoit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benoit moves away.
Oro throws a body punch but Benoit moves out of range.
Oro throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Oro throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Benoit's head.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Benoit. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Benoit wants to clinch up but Oro keeps it at a distance.
Oro throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Benoit stumbling backwards into the cage! Benoit bounces back off the cage towards Oro, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Oro lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Oro celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
