Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marvin Perez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry Fong!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fong takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Perez avoids the head kick by Fong.
Fong plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Perez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fong is controlling Perez's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Perez connects with a nice short shot to Fong's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fong is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Perez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Perez's back!
Perez trying to control the hands but Fong won't let him.
You can see the frustration on Perez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Perez trying to control but not successfully.
Perez has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
I would not like to be Perez right now.
Fong keeps control of the position as Perez tries to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Fong tries to get the hooks in deep but Perez pushed the leg off.
Perez trying to control the action but Fong just sinks the hooks in.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fong struggling to keep hold of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Fong throws a head kick but Perez moves out of range.
Fong throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Perez on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Perez walks into a stiff left hand from Fong.
Fong lands a high kick!


Perez is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick by Fong - that's a beauty! Perez is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Fong can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Harry Fong!

A less than humble Harry Fong misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
