And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Georgesson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Georgesson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Georgesson moves into the clinch.
Silva lands an elbow that stopped Georgesson in his tracks for a moment.
Silva is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Georgesson is keeping busy.
Silva tries to work over Georgesson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Silva landing knees to the head.
Silva tries to stall but Georgesson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Georgesson jumps guard but Silva stands there with Georgesson around his waist. Georgesson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Silva tries to land knees in the clinch but Georgesson avoids the damage to the body.

Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Georgesson gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.
Georgesson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Georgesson has double underhooks.
Silva unloads a knee to the mid-section. Georgesson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Georgesson tries for a takedown but Silva manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Georgesson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Georgesson lands a right hand.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Georgesson smiles and moves away.
Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Georgesson counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.

Georgesson wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Georgesson throws and elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Georgesson's guard. Nice move by Silva!
Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Georgesson is proving hard to escape from.

Georgesson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him.
Silva wanted to stand there but Georgesson had control of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Georgesson is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Georgesson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Georgesson lands in his opponent's guard.
Silva is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva is looking to stand up but Georgesson isn't so interested in that idea.
Georgesson is stalling in the full guard.
Silva is looking to stand back up but Georgesson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silva.
Silva takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva is trying to buck Georgesson off.
Silva looks gassed!
What's Silva going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but Georgesson is dominant here and he's now got Silva's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Georgesson shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Silva tries to clinch but Georgesson moves away

and Georgesson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Georgesson gets underhooks to prevent Silva's takedown attempt.
Georgesson has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Georgesson gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.
Georgesson takes a knee right on the jaw!

Georgesson is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Georgesson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Georgesson has Silva pulled in close to control his posture.
Silva is stalling in the full guard.
Georgesson has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Georgesson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Silva blocks a head kick by Georgesson.
Silva throws a head kick that Georgesson semi-blocks.

Georgesson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard.

Georgesson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva is trying to control the position but Georgesson postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Georgesson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Georgesson advances position into side control!
Georgesson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Georgesson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Georgesson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ground and pound from Georgesson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Georgesson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Silva throws a lazy head kick

and Georgesson moves into the clinch.
Silva jumps guard but Georgesson stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Georgesson can't break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Georgesson scores with a nice hook to the head.
Silva has had enough of the clinch but Georgesson keeps him there for the moment.

Georgesson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Georgesson drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Nice sprawl there from Silva as Georgesson shoots in.

Georgesson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva pushes Georgesson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Georgesson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Silva prevents Georgesson from improving position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Georgesson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

enabling Georgesson to counter with a crisp jab.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Georgesson fails in his attempt to clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Georgesson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Georgesson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Georgesson manages to move to mount!
Silva sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Georgesson seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt.
Georgesson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Georgesson wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position.
Georgesson prevents Silva from improving his position.
Georgesson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Georgesson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Georgesson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Georgesson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva reaches up to try and control the position but Georgesson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Silva rolls and tries to escape and now Georgesson has his back!
Anderson Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Georgesson keeps control of the position easily here as Silva tries to buck him off.
Silva covering up well under a barage of strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Georgesson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Georgesson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
