Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lützenkirchen - Leer aber Techno. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry looks for a takedown but Wallace sprawls well.
Wallace steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Perry. That one must have hurt.

Perry drives through and clinches with Wallace against the cage.
Perry is working for takedown but Wallace is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wallace breaks the clinch.

Wallace gets a clinch.

Perry breaks from the clinch.
Perry throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wallace's waist but Wallace gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perry off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Perry swats away the attempt to clinch by Wallace.

Perry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Perry is trying to control the action in half guard but Wallace is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Wallace scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Perry manages to mount him!
Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wallace is squirming around, avoiding Perry's attempts to control the action.

Wallace is trying desperately to improve position.
Perry avoids the attempt from Wallace to control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Perry is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Perry is breathing heavily.

Perry gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wallace wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Perry has him pressed against the cage.
Perry is trying to maintain a safe position but Wallace gets an underhook and turns Perry into the cage.
Wallace stalling in the clinch but Perry improves position.

Perry breaks from the clinch.
Perry shoots in but Wallace avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wallace fails in his attempt to clinch.
Perry shoots in for a double leg but Wallace sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Perry looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.
Wallace lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace lands with a slapping head kick.
Wallace bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Perry avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallace keeps the fight on the outside.
Wallace throws a sloppy head kick and Perry moves out of range easily.

Perry shoots in and bounces Wallace off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wallace looking to control.
Wallace preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wallace controls Perry momentarily but Perry frees himself.

Perry passes Wallace's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Perry not doing much here.

Perry gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Perry tries to clinch up.
A head kick from Perry lands but Wallace takes it in his stride.
Perry looks to clinch
and Wallace counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Perry dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Perry gets the takedown into side control.
Perry wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.

Perry looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Perry wants to take a breather but Wallace manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Perry.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Perry drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wallace looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wallace looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wallace!

Perry is trying to improve his position.
Perry looking for a sweep but Wallace has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Perry is trying to escape the mount.
Wallace avoids the attempt from Perry to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Perry manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Perry manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Perry clinches up against the cage.
Perry slows down the pace here.
Wallace avoiding damage.
Perry stalling in the clinch.

Perry gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry is thwarting Wallace's attempts to control the position.

Perry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Perry seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Perry wants to pass the guard but Wallace is defending well.
Wallace on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Perry moves nicely into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wallace is looking for a sweep.
Wallace wants to control but Perry postures up.

Perry is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wallace has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wallace is not content to let Perry control the position.

Perry decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Perry dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Wallace lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wallace.
Wallace takes a swing at Perry's ribcage but misses.
Wallace misses with a kick to the body

and Perry counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Perry passes to side control.
Perry trying to control the position but Wallace is working away.
Wallace taking punishment in the form of punches.

Perry decides to stand back up.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch but Wallace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Perry lands a two punch combo.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perry throws a left and a right that both miss

and Wallace counters with a single leg into guard. Perry didn't expect that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Perry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perry is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wallace is controlling him.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.

Perry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wallace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Perry is pulling down on Wallace's head. It's preventing any offense from Wallace, at least for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perry trying to keep a closed guard but Wallace is proving a slippery customer.

Perry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Wallace gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Wallace connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Perry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace tries to kick Perry off but Perry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Perry is looking to advance position but Wallace won't allow it.
Perry is keen to just control but Wallace is a slippery customer.
Wallace trying to hold on to Perry's head to control him but Perry postures up.

Perry stands up from half guard.
Perry misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wallace misses with a body shot.
Ben Wallace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wallace wants to clinch up but Perry keeps it at a distance.
Perry misses with a series of wild punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Perry.
Perry with a poor takedown
and Wallace counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Perry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wallace looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wallace can't do much from the bottom here.

Perry has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wallace swings away with a leg kick that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fred Perry showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
