PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Auto Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KC Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Renegade by Jay-Z & Eminem. Cooper has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Cooper checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cooper misses the shot to the body.
Bot tries to land a front kick but Cooper steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bot throws a wild body kick that Cooper sees coming a mile off.

Bot gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Bot jumps guard and drags Cooper to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Bot keeps moving.
Bot is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

KC Cooper has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cooper misses the shot to the body.

Bot gets a double leg takedown into Cooper's guard.
Bot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooper swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bot has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bot has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cooper is proving hard to escape from.

Cooper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bot defends well.
Bot might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bot looking to sit in guard and control but Cooper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooper drops back looking for a leg! Bot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bot manages to kick Cooper off! Cooper jumps back into Bot's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bot stops Cooper from passing to mount.
Bot tries to buck Cooper off but Cooper is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cooper avoids the strikes from the bottom by Bot.

Cooper is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bot has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Auto Bot will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bot drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Cooper looking for a guillotine here but Bot defends easily.

Bot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bot has managed to get both his arms back between Cooper's legs - danger averted.
Bot tries to free his leg and advance position but Cooper is retaining full guard.

Cooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bot gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We're going to have a standup here because Auto Bot wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cooper tries to sprawl but Bot drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bot tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Bot wants to pass to mount but Cooper is defending the position.
Bot slows the pace down in half guard.

Bot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cooper on the ground.
