Dickinson's entrance music is turisas- stand up and fight. A fine choice. Will Dickinson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Dickinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickinson avoids the body shot from Cormier.

Cormier moves into the clinch.
Cormier slowing the pace effectively.
Dickinson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cormier is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Cormier turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dickinson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cormier's best efforts.
Dickinson is trying to stand back up but Cormier is controlling him

Cormier seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dickinson is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dickinson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Cormier is trying to buck Dickinson off.
Cormier is not content to let Dickinson control the position.
Cormier is trying to get back to his feet.
Dickinson cracks Cormier with a big elbow.
Cormier is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dickinson is controlling him well.

Dickinson throws a strike aimed at the side of Cormier's head but Cormier avoids it well.

Cormier is pushing Dickinson's head away, looking to escape. Dickinson manages to hold on to the position though.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dickinson is putting a hurting on Cormier here, landing some big shots from side control.

Cormier closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cormier fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dickinson is working for takedown but Cormier is calmly controlling the position for now.
Dickinson has Cormier pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cormier manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dickinson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Dickinson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cormier is defending well for now.

Cormier wants to take the fight to the mat but Dickinson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Dickinson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cormier is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cormier is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

You get the feeling that Cormier really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dickinson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cormier can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cormier is in a horrible position here. Dickinson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Cormier's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dickinson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cormier avoids it.
Cormier has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dickinson after a bit of a struggle.

Cormier has had enough of the clinch but Dickinson keeps him there for the moment.

Cormier sneaks out the side door and pushes Dickinson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Cormier throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dickinson.
Dickinson is looking to clinch but Cormier is avoiding it.
Dickinson fails to land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dickinson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Dickinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cormier gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dickinson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dickinson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
