Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frederic Bastiat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Hayfore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastiat comes to the cage accompanied by Superstition. Frederic Bastiat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayfore misses with a kick to the body.
Bastiat takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hayfore pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hayfore looks for the body kick but Bastiat saw that one coming.
Hayfore misses with a head kick.

Bastiat drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Bastiat drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hayfore dives on top into guard.

Bastiat looking for subs off his back but Hayfore has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hayfore wants to free his trapped foot but Bastiat is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bastiat moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bastiat wants to sweep but no luck.

Bastiat is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hayfore defends well.
Hayfore trying to control but Bastiat is working from the bottom.

Hayfore is looking to stand up but Bastiat won't let him.

Bastiat looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bastiat wants to sweep but no luck.
Bastiat keeping moving, preventing Hayfore from controlling successfully.
Hayfore throws a big elbow that misses.
Hayfore wants to control from the top but Bastiat keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brad Hayfore.
Bastiat shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayfore sprawls well. He's pushed Bastiat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hayfore pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hayfore tries a head kick but it misses.

Bastiat feints and as Hayfore raises his hands in defense, Bastiat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayfore working for a triangle but Bastiat defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bastiat drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hayfore manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bastiat has Hayfore in his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bastiat has his foot on Hayfore's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hayfore works his way back into a safe position though.
Hayfore wants to control from the top but Bastiat keeps moving.

Hayfore wants to escape the position.

Bastiat looking for the RNC.
Bastiat keeps control of the position as Hayfore tries to break free.
Hayfore controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Hayfore trying to control but not successfully.
I really don't envy Hayfore right now.
Hayfore is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Bastiat looking for the choke from the back.
You can see the frustration on Hayfore's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Bastiat is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hayfore defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bastiat is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hayfore knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hayfore for a finish.

Bastiat doesn't have the hooks in and Hayfore manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bastiat has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hayfore is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bastiat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bastiat is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hayfore sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hayfore throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hayfore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bastiat scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hayfore stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hayfore wants it to stay on the feet.

Hayfore gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bastiat has gone for a leg lock! Hayfore slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bastiat's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Frederic Bastiat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bastiat throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hayfore escapes and throws Bastiat's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bastiat is looking for a sweep.

Hayfore stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hayfore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bastiat blocks a head kick by Hayfore.
Hayfore throws a head kick that Bastiat semi-blocks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hayfore enables Bastiat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hayfore manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hayfore is breathing heavily.

Bastiat drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hayfore looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hayfore looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hayfore!

Hayfore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bastiat keeps working.

Bastiat manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hayfore missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Hayfore throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Hayfore wants to control from the top but Bastiat keeps moving.

Hayfore has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bastiat to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hayfore is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bastiat pulls down on the head and he's put Hayfore to sleep! This one is all over!
