Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between redheaded Step Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullen has chosen Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Step Child shoots in looking for a takedown. Mullen tries to sprawl out of it but Step Child keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mullen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chris Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Step Child shoots in but Mullen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mullen looks to land a combination but Step Child avoids it well.
Mullen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Step Child moves away.
Mullen throws a low kick but Step Child avoids it.

Step Child shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mullen but Mullen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Step Child displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mullen throws out the jab.

Nice takedown defense from Mullen. No joy for Step Child on that attempt.

Step Child feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Step Child really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Step Child advances nicely into full mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullen is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Step Child wants to finish this one by submission but Mullen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Step Child.

Step Child jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mullen manages to avoid the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Step Child thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Step Child is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mullen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that redheaded Step Child will probably get the nod.
