The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samson throws a poor cross that misses
and Hogg counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hogg delivers a nice body kick.
Samson tries to clinch up but Hogg circles away and keeps his distance.

Hogg paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Samson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hogg.
Hogg's jab looks to have found its range, popping Samson under the eye.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Samson.

Hogg keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Samson's efforts to push away.
Hogg misses with a knee to the head.
Samson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hogg's elbow.
Samson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hogg obliges.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hogg is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Samson has Hogg pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hogg manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hogg drops Samson with a big knee straight up the middle! Samson is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Hogg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hogg sends Samson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hogg is motioning to the referee to let Samson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Samson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hogg.
Jefferson Davis Hogg seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hogg fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Samson square on the jaw! Damn, Samson is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
