PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Edurado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrance Fortuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terrance Fortuna told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortuna swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Edurado connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Terrance Fortuna has been cut.
Edurado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fortuna throws the left hand but Edurado avoids the punch easily.
Fortuna has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Edurado finds it's way round the side to connect with Fortuna's head.
Fortuna connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Edurado's hands.

It looks like Javier Edurado has been cut.
Fortuna misses with a wild body shot.
Edurado walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edurado tries to clinch there but Fortuna circles away.
Edurado explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Fortuna throws the left hand but Edurado avoids the punch easily.
Fortuna shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Edurado defends it nicely.
Fortuna walks into a straight right hand from Edurado.
Edurado scores with a leg kick.
Edurado bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fighters circling - Fortuna throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fortuna lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A big right from Fortuna misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edurado lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Edurado sizes up Fortuna with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

That has opened up Terrance Fortuna's cut even more.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fortuna.
Javier Edurado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terrance Fortuna.

Fortuna throws a right and a left that both miss.
Terrance Fortuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Edurado has knocked Fortuna down with a huge combo! Edurado steps away and waves a wobbly Fortuna back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Edurado punishes Fortuna's body with a nice straight punch.
Fortuna takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

The cut above Terrance Fortuna's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Edurado moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Fortuna is still on wobbly legs! Can Edurado finish him?
Fortuna walks forward, straight into a front kick from Edurado.
Edurado throws a pinpoint strike between Fortuna's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Fortuna crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Edurado scores a great knockout victory!
