The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scalante moves into range and connects with a jab.
Scalante misses with a left hand
and Koiranaama counters with a single leg into guard. Scalante didn't expect that.
Koiranaama in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Koiranaama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Scalante has control of Koiranaama's left arm, preventing Koiranaama from doing any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Scalante ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koiranaama moves away.
Scalante bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Koiranaama's head backwards.
Scalante jabs Koiranaama to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Scalante lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Scalante stuffs the takedown attempt from Koiranaama. Koiranaama gets slowly back to his feet.
Scalante drops Koiranaama with a beautiful combination! Koiranaama stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Scalante is looking for the KO!
Koiranaama is rocked!

Scalante throws out a loose jab but Koiranaama uses good head movement to avoid it.
Scalante lands with a good body shot.
Scalante feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Koiranaama sprawling to the canvas! Koiranaama rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Scalante finish him?!
Oh Koiranaama is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Scalante plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Koiranaama to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Koiranaama just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
