Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Smyth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McKinley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smyth comes to the cage accompanied by Painkiller - Pendulum feat. Freestylers. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Smyth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike McKinley!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smyth staying out of range there.
McKinley lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smyth's sensitive parts.
McKinley needs to keep his hands up - Smyth had a free shot at his head there.
Smyth shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McKinley eats them both and turns towards Smyth to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Mike McKinley has been cut.

Smyth moves into the clinch.
Smyth tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and McKinley avoids it.
McKinley softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
McKinley prevents a body shot from Smyth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKinley wants to break free but Smyth has control.
McKinley misses with a body punch.

McKinley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McKinley thows a left - swing and a miss!
Smyth lands a lovely overhand right.
McKinley avoids a punch combination nicely.
McKinley takes a swing at Smyth's ribcage but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smyth misses with a kick to the body
and McKinley counters with an outside leg kick.
Smyth fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McKinley is out of range.
McKinley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McKinley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smyth.
Smyth connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McKinley momentarily.


McKinley is rocked!
McKinley stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Smyth checks a leg kick.
McKinley misses with a few strikes there.
McKinley on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smyth. Smyth obviously looking to wear him down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A punch combination from Smyth misses.

Smyth throws a wild body kick that McKinley sees coming a mile off.
Smyth digs a good hook to McKinley's body.

Smyth gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smyth misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Smyth working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
McKinley prevents a body shot from Smyth.
Smyth can't find room to land a body shot as McKinley controls the action.
Smyth keeps control of McKinley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Smyth trying to land knees to the body.
Smyth misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McKinley.
Smyth has McKinley pressed against the cage, preventing McKinley from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
McKinley dodges an elbow strike from Smyth.

McKinley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

McKinley cracks Smyth with an open hand slap.
Smyth throws a body punch but McKinley moves out of range.
A low kick from McKinley is predictable there

and Smyth counters with a head kick that drops McKinley to the mat! McKinley scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
McKinley is still on wobbly legs! Can Smyth finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McKinley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McKinley defending well as Smyth loads up on a big left hand.

Smyth lands a big uppercut and McKinley crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McKinley looks OK. Smyth waves McKinley back to his feet!
Smyth connects with a leg kick. McKinley looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
McKinley lands a slapping body shot.
Smyth throws a half hearted mid kick.
McKinley seems to have recovered his senses.
A nice leg kick lands there from McKinley.
McKinley avoids the head kick by Smyth.
McKinley dips to his left and cracks Smyth with an uppercut!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smyth throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McKinley throws a head kick that misses.
McKinley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Smyth moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
McKinley fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smyth.
Smyth keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McKinley gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smyth.
McKinley throws a leg kick which misses Smyth's front leg but catches the back leg as Smyth tries to avoid it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

McKinley misses with a few strikes there.
McKinley throws a head kick that half lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Smyth dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mike McKinley's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Smyth misses with a low kick as McKinley jumps back.
McKinley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McKinley takes a swing at Smyth's ribcage but misses.
Smyth with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Smyth scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McKinley doesn't seem bothered though.
Nice uppercut there from Smyth.
McKinley checks the leg kick.
Smyth checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
McKinley thows a body shot but no joy.
McKinley takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smyth sends McKinley crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Smyth is motioning to the referee to let McKinley up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Smyth throws a sloppy head kick and McKinley moves out of range easily.

Smyth tries a head kick but it misses.
A solid leg kick lands there for Smyth.
McKinley gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Smyth counters with a nice low kick that buckles McKinley's knee momentarily.
McKinley is breathing heavily.
Smyth fails in his attempt to clinch.
McKinley misses the shot to the body.
McKinley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Smyth is looking to slow McKinley down with leg kicks.
Smyth throws a wild body kick that McKinley sees coming a mile off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Smyth cracks McKinley with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smyth has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McKinley to stand back up!
Smyth throws a pinpoint strike between McKinley's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends McKinley crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Smyth scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kris Smyth!
A relieved looking Kris Smyth thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
