The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medley tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Segura is able to avoid easily.
Segura misses with a body shot.
Medley throws a push kick but Segura slaps the foot to one side.
Medley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Segura manages to avoid it.
Segura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Medley as he jumps to the side.
Medley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Medley throws a hook to the side of Segura's head but Segura sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Medley scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Segura dives in and scores a takedown into Medley 's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Segura passes Medley 's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Segura is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medley is just riding it out for now. Segura eventually gives up the hold.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Segura works his way into side control.

Medley is trying to control Segura's posture but Segura avoids it.

Segura is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Medley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Medley 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Segura thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Segura tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Segura has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Segura wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Medley , who protects the arm well.
Medley tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Segura has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Medley is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Segura yanks on the arm and Medley is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Segura.
