Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Alexandrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexandrov drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marshall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alexandrov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marshall is keeping the position for now.
Alexandrov connects with a couple of short punches.
Alexandrov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Alexandrov throwing strikes from guard but Marshall blocks nicely.
Marshall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alexandrov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marshall wants to stand but Alexandrov is controlling the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alexandrov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Marshall can't keep his opponent in guard - Alexandrov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Alexandrov is taking a breather. Marshall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Alexandrov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Alexandrov lands a nice short elbow.

Alexandrov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Alexandrov is working for a submission of some sort.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alexandrov in particular looking to stall.
Alexandrov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marshall for as long as he can get away with.

Alexandrov is nestled in close to Marshall, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Alexandrov maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Marshall could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Alexandrov has cracked it and Marshall is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Alexandrov!
